The idea for this one came out of discussions of the very disturbing realization that the electorate was succumbing to the cult of Fascist populism. For a very long time, I’d had the line “And Now I know why Jack Kerouac drank, as if I didn’t know before” running through my head as a retort and a possible song lyric.
